We have worked on a number of awesome projects with great partners.
Interior Self Advocate Leadership Conference. A presentation that resulted in creating 4 custom digital stories in response to the 4 lowest scoring domains in the Quality of Life survey. Planners wanted to hear stories from self advocates to understand what they can do to improve their work. The project was a result of collaborations between self advocate planning committee and CLBC offices in Vernon, Kamloops & Kelowna.
Individualized Funding Series. We were asked to help CLBC excavate and share the stories of people who have tried Individualized Funding. We worked with CLBC to film, edit and create powerful stories that can be used as a communication tool to share successes.
Employment Champions. We teamed up with Smart Options, Open Door Group, Inclusion Kamloops, The Thompson Caribou Community Council and Community Living British Columbia to hear some amazing employment successes stories in the Kamloops area.
Finding Common Ground. We joined a great conference in Kamloops to host a storytelling circle lead by Shelley Nessman. The conference was promoting ideas of coming together, supporting each other, finding your voice, recognizing & valuing the individual while creating a community. We had a great time and heard some powerful stories.
Can I get a witness?!
“INcommon is remarkable. They are pioneers on the one hand, but just as valuably they are community builders, weaving together not only stories but the whole community of storytellers. The stories are sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, sometimes both, but always, always rich and deep and human. Good work!”
